I live in Dobrich city. It is the
capital of the region of Southern Dobrudzha. The extremely favorable
combination of natural and climatic conditions in the region are the real
prerequisites for the high level of agricultural development. It has always
been and is now also one of the priority sector in the district’s economy. The
main crops are wheat, corn, sunflower, but nowadays and lavender. These natural
recourses make it possible to set up a private business for growing crops on
one’s own or leased land. One of the most famous and successful businessmen are
the Pavlov brothers. They are the first tenants in Dobrudzha, who started
leased land in 1990. At the moment they cultivate 50 thousand decares. The
Pavlov brothers were also the first winners of the Young Farmer and
Agribusinessman of Bulgaria awards.
