Phone scammers in Estonia
In Estonia, since the beginning of 2021, phone scammers
have swindled a total of almost 3.2 million euros from gullible people.
Almost every day, Estonian social network Facebook groups
appear warnings about phone scammers who pretend to be bank employees and ask
to confirm various transactions, extorting account holders' passwords.
In 2021, I received more than 10 such calls. Both bank
employees and the police were represented. As a rule, these scammers call from
abroad and do not know the Estonian language, they act according to the scheme
described on the Internet, which many are already familiar with from the media.
Therefore, after questions in Estonian, they turn off the phone or hang up.
Many begin to be rude, after exposing their questions.

stars, attract users to sites where they promise instant wins in exchange for
personal bank card data. Most often, videos are posted in teaser networks and
Instagram Stories.

Forged 5,000 counterfeit Swiss francs in Zagreb:
during April this year, the duo counterfeited five
counterfeit banknotes of 1,000 Swiss francs in an exchange office within the
shopping center on Dubrovnik Avenue, as well as in an exchange office at the
same address in New Zagreb.
The fraudsters were handed over to the custody supervisor,
and the report against them was forwarded to the New Zagreb Municipal State

passed. After a week, the cargo has arrived. But the product was totally
different from the one in the advertisement.

from people's credit cards through a streaming platform. In this streaming platform
viewers can donate money to the streamer if they want. In order to launder
their money they got in contact and made deals with big streamers to launder
their money. To do that, they sent their money to the streamers and streamers
took some of the money and then send the remaining money back to the scammers.
Because the streamers are known and big ,the big donations did not attract
attention from the streaming platform. But then somebody hacked the streaming
platform and reached the streamers income and shared it online. After that,
random people looking through these information saw the inconsistency between
the views and the donations so they brought it to law forces attention.

The killer of the 50 Livorno cats who were killed and in
some cases beheaded and mutilated in the last ten months in the Tuscan city
could be hiding in the chats and social pages of the furry friends. Among other
hypotheses, this thesis is supported by the criminologist who is investigating
on behalf of the order of veterinarians. Therefore, attention must be kept high
in chats and on social pages that deal with the protection of cats not only in
Livorno. To identify the person responsible for these crimes, our association has

The topic of “Inveterate swindlers“ reminded me a book that
I read when I was in primary school. Its writer was Sven Wernström from Sweden.
The name of the book is "My little Swindler" and the main character
is Max. Of course I didn't know anything about swindlers at that time, but I
can say that the book gives the secrets of advertising and marketing away and
it tells about the tricks related with the placement of the retail goods on the
supermarket shelves, how to sell an item that has not got a good selling rate,
or how to organize sale campaigns for attracting customer's attention. These
topics were written in the book in a way that kids could easily understand the
tricky methods of trading by the help of Max.

The event takes place in Kocaeli, Turkey in 2015. The
victim is a 49-year-old veterinarian. The swindler, wearing black clothes and
knocking on S.H's door, said “I am the Grim Reaper, I came to take your life,
but your sin is too much. Give your penance immediately." Taking advantage
of his victim's surprise, the swindler asked S.H. that someone would be
upstairs in the apartment soon, and to give him his penance. The accomplice of
the swindler, who stepped in 5 minutes later, wanted to go upstairs. Stopping
the man, S.H. The Azrael chest said to the fraudster, "He wants money from
me, can you help me?"
His accomplice replied, “Which man? There is no one else
here but the two of us,” Panicked, the woman handed over 5 thousand lira worth
of gold to the swindler. Taking the money, the suspects fled the scene.

Internet scams are evolving at a very high speed.
Cybercrime has progressed and more and more institutions are falling victim to
it, and criminals are acting more and more professionally. Fraud occurs in a
variety of areas and all involve the use of the Internet. Telephone fraud has
also increased. Worst of all, the most common victims of these phone scams are
people over 50. That's what technology has led to!
